Our event is held on the beautiful sweeping lawns surrounding Sherborne Castle, a magnificent stately home originally built for Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594. It has been the home of the Digby family since 1617 and is set in fine landscaped gardens overlooking a lake created by Capability Brown in the eighteenth century.
A wide range of traditional and contemporary crafts are on show, with fascinating demonstrations of craftspeople at work and happy to answer your questions. Take your time and explore all of the many and varied stalls loaded with unique and creative designs and fine workmanship, from delicate jewellery to leather goods (and just about everything in between).
Around the great marquees housing the specialist craft stalls you will find hundreds of plants on sale from a variety of garden suppliers. These offer outstanding value and you are sure to find something perfect to fill that vacant spot in your border! There are woodworkers and metalworkers offering beautiful and well-made ornaments and furniture for the garden.
Entry to the show includes the gardens and grounds of the Castle, with their delightful walks, lawns, ancient trees and views. This is a wonderful setting for a family day out, whether you fancy a stroll or a lazy picnic by the lakeside. (Admission to the fascinating Castle building, with its historic interiors, is available separately.)
Food and refreshments are available throughout the day, and there is free entertainment for younger children.
