Description
These large, hairy bees are generally black with varying degrees of yellow banding. Looking closely at flowering plants, you’ll probably spot several species. Common bumblebees include garden, buff-tailed, red-tailed, white-tailed and field bumblebees.
My glass bumblebee is based on the white tailed. They are approximately 50mm by 40mm are are perfect hung in windows or from the ceiling. They also can be free standing.
Each is made entirely by hand so each will look a little different to each other. I begin by coating a white core with black and transparent yellow to give the banding of these iconic insect species.
