Often overlooked, the wren has held a mythical allure for centuries, even earning the title of King of the Birds in Aesop’s fables. Each glass wren is a testament to this small but mighty creature.
To capture the wren’s intricate plumage, I blend various shades of brown glass into a single, elongated strands. This is then layered over a cream-coloured core, with meticulous detail added to form the bird’s head and body. As a handcrafted piece, every wren possesses its unique charm, varying slightly in size, shape, and colour. Measuring approximately 60mm long by 50mm tall, these diminutive sculptures are a delightful celebration of nature’s artistry.
